Her Purpose - Soulmates - Chapter 3

CHAPTER 3 - ACCIDENTS

Michael Redson

Michael vowed to never fall in love again. His heart had been broken and in agony after his wife and his little unborn girl died in a car accident two years ago. Beautiful Lana was his soul mate. He thought he would never be able to love again that way, even if he knew Lana would want him to be happy and to continue enjoying his life. Lana went to get some groceries at the supermarket two days before Christmas, and a drunk driver hit her car. Michael was the top surgeon at the Sunset Beach Hospital, and he was working in the emergency room that dreadful day. He tried to save his wonderful wife and his baby, but lamentably, he wasn't able to save them, and they died in his arms. That destroyed him, and he wasn't able to recover after losing the love of his life. Even though he loved God, he was upset with God. He did not want to interact with anyone. His pain was unbearable, and he stopped talking to God, to people, and he also stopped celebrating Christmas.

Michael was known as one of the top heart surgeons in the country even though he was not working as a doctor anymore. He used to work at Sunset Beach Hospital in the town of Sunset Beach in the Florida Panhandle until his wife's accident. Michael is 6'2," has blond hair, and beautiful blue eyes. After his wife's accident, he left his job as a doctor and started drinking to forget his troubles. He knew he shouldn't be drinking alcohol. He was aware that alcohol negatively affected his mood and behavior, making it difficult for him to think clearly, but his profound depression led him to make the unfortunate decision to continue drinking.

He moved to Monterey, California. He wanted to be far from Sunset Beach. He loved writing, working with wood, and creating. He bought a secluded house in Monterey, California, facing the Pacific Ocean. From his house, he was able to see the tranquil body of water with the moonlight shining along its surface and diamonds shining on the majestic seawater. It was a stunning place that brought calm to his hurting heart.

One year later, after the accident, he was listening to the radio, and a song started to play called I Am With You, by Rosa Enid Cruz Roque. The lyrics touched his heart deeply. God spoke to his heart and called him back to him.

"Son, I am with you."

"Father God, I cannot do this anymore. Lord, I am hurting my family and myself; please help me. I do not have any peace. I know I walked away from You Lord, but I love you, and I need you. Please heal my heart. I know that you exist and that you care for me."

"Talk to me Michael; trust me. I am with you and have always been. You are not alone. Ask me, and I will give you the peace you need right now."

Michael stopped the car in a parking lot of a beautiful park, bowed down his head on the steering wheel, and started to pray and sob. He remembered Philippians 4:7, which says, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. He emptied his heart to God and felt God's love and peace deep inside his heart. He turned the car on and continued his journey to his home. After this awe-inspiring experience, he started to pray again, stopped drinking, and was motivated to start writing medical textbooks and romance books. At that moment, his healing started, though he did not want to work again as a doctor. He couldn't, it was too hard for him.

Since God spoke to his life, Michael wrote a lot of romance novels and medical books. He was a bestselling author, a success in writing books, but nobody knew who he was except his family. He did not use his real name in his publications; he called himself MJRed. He was getting used to California, and the beautiful scenery, and weather, and wanted to stay there forever. He wanted to remain secluded, remembering and mourning his wife and daughter.

In reality; he didn't know how to get out of the pit in which his life was, but God already had a plan to heal him completely, and to give him a beautiful and productive life. The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way. Though he falls, he shall not be utterly cast down, for the Lord supports him with his hand.

His phone rang, and when he looked at the caller ID, it was his dad, David. "Hello dad," he said.

"Son, there has been an emergency, and we need you at Sunset Beach. Your mother had a car accident, and she is in the hospital. She is stable, but we need you here." His heart crumbled to the floor. His amazing and strong mom was in the hospital.

"I will be there as soon as I can." After they finished their conversation, he took his suitcase, put his clothes and essentials inside it, and headed to the airport.

Michael was back in his hometown to see his mom. He did not want to come back to Sunset Beach, the place that caused him so much suffering, but for his mom he would do anything. As soon as he saw her, he kissed her and hugged her with great tenderness.

"Mom, how are you feeling?"

"I am better now that you are here, son." She asked him with tenacity if he would like to cover for her as a teacher in the university for a few months until she got better. Immediately he decided he was going to help his mom every way he could.

His sister Liz took time off from her job as a model to look after her mother at her parent's home. His siblings Dylan, John, Brett, and Roxanne were on their way home. It has been two years since he has seen them all.
