Her Purpose - Soulmates - Chapter 13

CHAPTER 13 - THE DATE

Melinne Martin

The next morning Michael took Melinne home. Their connection was incredible. Their conversation flowed like they knew each other all their lives. When they got to Melinne's home, Michael got out of his car speedily and opened the door for her. "Would you like me to take you to the car dealership? How is your friend doing?"

"It is fine, Michael; my friend Sarah is expecting me, and she told me she was going to take me. She is doing fine; she has been spending her time with her new boyfriend, and she is so excited to tell me. Today is going to be girls' time."

"Honey, if you need anything, don't hesitate to call me. Melinne, before I leave, I wanted to ask you something; would you like to go on a date with me tomorrow?"

"Let me see if that is a good idea," she said, in a playful way. "I will be very pleased to go out with you, Michael." He smiled from ear to ear.

"I will pick you up at 6:00 p.m." He got close to her and gave her a passionate kiss. She blinked and swallowed, taking a few seconds before she spoke.

"Wow! You literally took my breath away," she said. His smile increased. They stared at each other. He was so handsome, amazing, and a man of God. She didn't want him to leave, but she had already made plans with Sarah. He hugged her tightly, his powerful embrace covering her. His eyes shimmer with joy. He kissed her again and whispered

"See you tomorrow, beautiful."

When Melinne was walking to her house, Sarah came running to her with a grin. "I saw that, Melinne. I am so happy for you friend, finally, and with our gorgeous professor, that is amazing," ahhhh, she sighed. They entered the house, and Sarah was asking her all kinds of questions. Melinne told her everything that happened with a delighted face. She was genuinely happy.

"Now, Sarah, it is your turn."

"Well, I have been noticing this stunning guy for about a month. He always goes to my mom's restaurant to eat dinner. About a week ago, he asked me out, and we went on a date. Since then, we have been seeing each other almost daily; we are inseparable. The day of the storm, he came to see me, picked me up, took me to his condominium, and kept me safe. He is the most respectful and charming man I have known. You know that after years of abuse from my dad, I didn't believe in any man, but he is so kind and gorgeous. He is my dream man, and he is extra attentive. He is tall, has black hair, and he has the most gorgeous almond eyes I have ever seen. I think that I am in love with him, Melinne."

"I am so happy for you, Sarah, and I hope he is the one." When she was uttering those words, she undoubtedly felt uncomfortable. She asked herself why she was feeling that way.

The next day she was already waiting for Michael at 5:30. She was so excited. She wore a black dress with a simple silver necklace, earrings, and silver heels. She fixed her hair and wore makeup. "Wow, Melinne, you look amazing. Michael is going to have a heart attack." They both giggled, and Sarah hugged her. "You deserve all the happiness in the world, my friend."

They heard the doorbell and Sarah squeal. "He is here!" Melinne opened the door, and there was Michael, handsome as ever. He looked at her but didn't talk.

"Are you all right, Michael?"

His voice was filled with tenderness as he said, "Sorry, honey, I don't have words to describe your beauty. You look like an angel, my angel." Her heart expanded with emotions. She smiled at him as he leaned closer and kissed her. "Are you ready, love?" She nodded, smiled again, and took his hand.

He took her to an unbelievably beautiful restaurant called Kingdom Restaurant. It was an hour away from Sunset Beach. They had a Christian band playing beautiful worship music. When they entered the restaurant, the band was playing Worthy by Elevation Worship. The restaurant atmosphere was filled with God's presence. It was amazing to be able to eat in a place that gives glory to God. The food was exquisite, and the people were kind and respectful. Michael chose crock pot roast with peppers, steamed potatoes, and sautéed green beans. Melinne chose grilled New York strip steak with salad and bread with honey. "This place is amazing, Michael; thank you for bringing me here."

"Anything for you, love."

He was so charming. I have never met anybody like him. I am really in trouble; I am head over heels with Michael.
